Weekly Bible Reading March 1 - March 6 PDF Print
Monday: Matthew 5:14-16, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Psalm 34:5, Ecclesiastes 8:1, Daniel 12:3
Key Verse: Matthew 5:14 "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.

To Think About: How does your light in Christ illuminate others? Be specific. Read all of the above verses. What do you know about the lives of Paul, David, Solomon and Daniel? How does the example of their lives help yours to shine?

Tuesday: Matthew 5:14-16, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Psalm 34:5, Ecclesiastes 8:1, Daniel 12:3, Matthew 6:19-24
Key Verse: Matthew 5:14 "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.

To Think About: Where does your light need fine tuning? If it isnʼt shining as you want, why not? How can you fix that?

Wednesday: Matthew 5:14-16, Matthew 6:19-24
Key Verse: Matthew 6:23 But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

To Think About: Compare the verses in Matthew 5 with those in Matthew 6. What are the differences between the person in Matthew 5 and the person in Matthew 6? Be specific. Where is your life dark?

Thursday:Acts 6 & 7, John 3:16-21
Key Verse:Acts 6:15 All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel.

To Think About: Stephenʼs light shined brightly and he was a fearless witness for Christ. Jesus points out that men love darkness and not light. Why is that? Faith check: what would you do if you were put in Stephenʼs position? List some verses you know that would comfort you in such a situation.

Friday:Psalm 34, Matthew 5:14-16, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Ecclesiastes 8:1, Daniel 12:3
Key Verse:Psalm 34:5 Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

To Think About: Read Psalm 34 carefully. What actions does David take to get the radiant face he describes in verse 5? Example: praise. How can following Davidʼs example help us shine our light as Jesus asks?

Saturday: Matthew 5:1-11, Matthew 5:14-16
Key Verse:Matthew 5:1 Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2and he began to teach them saying...

To Think About: How do the beatitudes — verses 1-11 — relate to Jesus instruction that we need to shine our light to others?
