Bible Reading Plan for 2010
A Bible reading plan is critical to your development as a Christian. It may not always seem like it in this time-pressured world we live in, but spending time with God and reading His Word is the most important part of your day. If you want to know God's will for your life, the Bible is one of the primary ways God speaks to us. That's why the Bible is often called "God's Word" or "The Word of God." Because God created the world and everything in it, reading the Bible is the best way to learn about ourselves and the world around us.
In Matthew 21:13 Jesus said, “My house will be called of prayer”. He was referring to the Temple where the people met to worship God. The modern day Temple is the Church. We are still called to be a house of prayer. The presence and power of God is upon a church where God's people regularly humble themselves before God in focused and earnest prayer. We know from scripture that spiritual forces are at work against the church and its' members. Preaching, teaching, discipling have little effect against these powers....without prayer (Zechariah 4:6). Our church must be united in unceasing, concentrated, prevailing prayer! There is great power in united prayer.
The early church was exhorted to: PRAY ALWAYS Ephesians 6:18
PRAY WITHOUT CEASING I Thess. 5:17
PRAY CONSTANTLY Rom. 12:12
PRAY AND DON'T WORRY Phil 4:6
We can't possibly meet everyday to pray. However we can pray for the same things each day by taking a few minutes each day to pray for THE CHAPEL by following the PRAYING FOR THE CHAPEL schedule that you can link to. Thank you for you faithful prayers.
For the first 10 years of our history, our Sunday Morning event was held at a local High School in our city. It served us well and matched our ministry goals rather well. Since the reorganizing of our goals for 2010, our leadership team felt it would serve us well if we found a more permanent place to meet. After a search of possible places, our church decided to invest the next five years into a facility called the Troutdale Market Place. We are leasing a little under 15,000 sq ft located in what was known in our town as Lamb's Thriftway. Below are a few pictures of the portion of the building we remodeled for our main meeting room.
Our first service was on September 30th of 2007, we had large crowd of excited people, both new and old. If you would like to read the report in our local paper about our new place, you can view it HERE. Come and visit soon.
